Invisalign in Roanoke Texas

What is Invisalign?

All orthodontic treatments work in a similar way in that the differing methods apply carefully controlled forces to teeth to move them into their correct positions.

Dr. Antolin will utilize specialized computer software to design a plan for moving your teeth into the best possible alignment. Each movement step will be broken down into several dozen stages, more or less.

For each stage, two sets of plastic aligners, also called trays, will be manufactured (invisible polyurethane plastic), one for your top row of teeth and one for the bottom, each tailored specifically for your bite. Each set of trays will be worn for one or two weeks, for a minimum of 22 hours each day. As your teeth begin the process of repositioning, we will move you through the next set of aligners.

Invisalign® clear aligners are removable instead of being cemented or bonded to your teeth like traditional braces.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Traditional braces have drawbacks in regards to diet, hygiene and office visits.

Improved Oral Hygiene — Since Invisalign® is removable, you can clean your teeth much more easily and thoroughly than if you were wearing metal braces. All you have to do is remove your tray to brush and floss your teeth normally. And if a loose piece of food is stuck it is easy to remove your tray and rinse it quickly and it can be soaked at night for cleaning.

A Discreet Look — With clear trays there are no metal wires. If you feel that metal braces don’t fit with your self-image, the invisibility of Invisalign® may be right for you.

More Dietary Choices — With traditional braces, some dietary modifications are necessary in order to protect the wires and brackets. Because you can remove your Invisalign® aligners, you can eat anything you like! Your can even remove your trays to eat sticky, crunchy foods that aren't allowed with normal orthodontic braces.

Comfort — The soft, flexible material that Invisalign® aligners are made of should not irritate the inside of your mouth like metal braces can. Your lips will not cut and bleed with Invisalign and the inside of your mouth won't get poked.

Teeth-Grinding Protection — If you have a teeth-grinding or clenching habit, clear aligners can function as thin night-guards that will protect your teeth from excessive wear.

Faster, more efficient treatment — you won't have to worry about brackets falling off or the continuous office visits to adjust your braces. You will receive trays you can switch out on your own every two weeks and only need to come into the office every six weeks or so for a checkup.

Who is eligible for Invisalign?

Invisalign is for different ages and types of cases. For teenagers there is "Invisalign Teen". Invisalign is also for adults and there is also "Invisalign Express" for people who may have had orthodontics earlier in life and now just need a little touch up due to shifting.

Though many cases are candidates for Invisalign, some cases are better treated by more traditional Orthodontic procedures. Dr. Antolin can meet with you and assess your needs to determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign.
